Ploom in truly Italian collaboration for Milan Design Week 2025

It's only fitting that the Ploom experience during the Milan Design Week 2025 included the perspective of a local creative. Arturo Tedeschi, is one of six designers that collaborated with Ploom for its second appearance at Milan Design Week.

Celebrated for his sculptural and visionary approach, he brought his unique gaze to the design of an exclusive front panel for the brand’s heated tobacco device, Ploom X Advanced.

A Serene Sensation, his elegant, flowing design was brought to life for visitors by the designer sharing his story of the front panel design - in calming shades of sky blue and white that evoke marble or delicate watercolor brush strokes.

Connected sensations and seeking beauty through technology

Tedeschi’s design approach is rooted in the idea of: “seeking beauty through technology.” He believes that technology, when used with intent and vision, is not just a tool but a language. It allows the exploration of new aesthetics, the ability to push the boundaries of form, and to enhance functionality.

His work is informed by a deep curiosity for algorithms, artificial intelligence, and digital fabrication, but always with a human-centric perspective – like Ploom in its journey to create heated tobacco perfection – and can be seen from his exclusive Ploom X Advanced front panel design for Milan Design Week 2025 (MDW 2025).

“I strive to create objects and spaces where complexity feels effortless, where innovation serves emotion, and where technology becomes an invisible layer to create new purposes,” explained Tedeschi.

An immersive exploration of sensoriality for MDW 2025

Tedeschi was an ideal addition to Ploom’s roster for its MDW 2025 immersive experience. No stranger to Milan Design Week, this collaboration was built on the strong resonance he felt with Ploom’s values, especially our deep appreciation for design as a core element in the creative and production process.

Like Ploom, sensoriality for him is the ability of a design to go beyond visual perception and engage the full spectrum of human senses. He describes it as creating an immersive experience where materials, geometry, light, sound - and even temperature - contribute to an emotional and physical dialogue between the object and the user.

“Our purpose aligns through a shared vision and deep awareness of the profound value of design,” commended Tedeschi. “Both Ploom and I place the human experience at the center, seeing objects not just as static elements but as active participants in stimulating the senses.”

“This common approach allows us to craft designs that transcend mere utility, promoting a deeper connection between people and their emotions, and ultimately enriching everyday life.”

Explaining his focus for the Ploom collaboration he added: “For me, pleasure arises when we have the opportunity to fully express our essence. This happens when we can project our inner world outward and, in return, experience a reflection of it coming back to us. In design, this means creating objects and spaces that not only provide a landscape for such freedom but also embody three fundamental qualities: function, emotion, and inspiration. A well-designed object or space should not only serve a purpose but also evoke a feeling and ignite creativity, becoming an active participant in the way we experience the world.”

“In my work, I explore how computational design and AI can enhance this multidimensional interaction, pushing the boundaries of how we feel and experience spaces, products, and architecture,” he commented. “The exploration of three-dimensionality through AI and algorithms opens up entirely new dimensions of sensory stimulation, allowing for unprecedented spatial narratives and interactions that evolve dynamically in response to the user’s presence and perception.”
